TVP – “Chik-en” Cutlets


Ingredients:

  • TVP- Textured Vegetable Protein- sold in health food stores in various shapes and sizes
  • Sesame seeds
  • Tumeric
  • Cayenne
  • Paprika
  • Ancho Chile Pepper
  • Black pepper
  • Sumac powder (optional)
  • Rice vinegar
  • Water

 
Preparation:
Soak TVP in both dry and wet seasonings for at least 1 hour.
The longer you soak the cutlets, the stronger the seasonings will be and the less chewy it will taste.
Pan sear until lightly browned on each side. The texture will be slightly spongy but very tasty.

Tips:
Serve with sprouts or over a green salad
